The party returned to Arabel and informed Faerlthann Obaskyr, and Baerauble Etharr about what was happening. They and the party came up with a plan – as the party knew the city was swarming with zombies reaching the Shard would be perilous if not outright impossible.
As Baerauble was an incredibly powerful mage, the group decided he would tap into the power of the Mythalar and temporarily lift the remains of the city out of the water onto the beaches of Sembia.
The party knew they would need considerable aid in this endeavor. They started locally, securing the help of several priestesses of Selune to help with healing. Obaskyr would commit a large force of Purple Dragons and War Wizards to the cause as well.
The final step was to secure Sembia’s compliance with waging a battle on their shores. The party came up with a plan. Years ago, Tradak Ironhouse had killed a mind flayer in a cavern and in doing so freed it up for mining. A significant portion of gold was mined and had been taken to Arabel where it was converted to gold bars. The party created a plan and set to work.
The party escorted the shipment of gold from Arabel to High Horn, fending off a small attack from the Zhentarim along the way. The party would stay in High Horn while the bars were minted into coins. While they were still bars, the party was surprised to find Arathluth inside vault already. He had just finished casting a spell that would allow him to scry upon any of the gold. The gold coins were all then minted, and then crown used the gold to purchase goods from the Roaring Winds trade company. The Roaring Winds then used the gold to purchase raw materials from Sembia and Impiltur for the creation of more weapons and armor to outfit the Purple Dragons. Sembia agrees to allow the battle to take place on their shores.
Everything was finally in place for the Battle of Sakoors.
