With Tradak’s blades finished, the party first attends a meeting set up by Mal’ Ganis with three demons. The meeting takes place in a destroyed drow fortress. He has made a deal with them to help resurrect their god in exchange for the tools to make peace between Cormyr and Cormanthor. A single slave was saved from the city to act as a guide for the party in the drow city of Maerimydra. His name is Wasp.
When the party arrives in Maerimydra they are confronted by a force of goblins, orcs, and firegiants fighting the drow. Wasp leads them to the Colosseum to parlay with the general of the force that has brought the city to its knees – Kurgoth Hellspawn. A bargain is made in which the party must destroy the forbearance that guards the last stronghold in the city – the Twisting Tower.
The swords that were crafted by Tradak before coming are in actuality mimics of the ceremonial blades worn by the drow in the the tower, allowing the party to enter the forbearance unharmed. As they enter the tower and begin to descend into its depths, a man comes to Jerinar Onyx and speaks to him of the future. They fight many drow and before each of the encounters this man visits Jerinar again and tells him of what lays before him. During one of these visits, the man teaches Jerinar a spell to shatter a spell that binds binds something in the deepest depths of the tower. As this happens, a voice calls to Cyrinth from below. They follow the voice to a cacoon of steel spider silk. Jerinar believes this is the spell mentioned before, and casts the new spell the strange man told him about – unraveling the cocoon. From within springs a blade, placing itself into Cyrinth’s hands. The blade announces its…her.. name – Ary’Velahr’Kerym.
They then fight their way to the top of the tower to meet a powerful drow priestess. As she monologues, one of her honor guards stabs the priestess in the back and the other dies after a short skirmish. The honor guard was in actuality a Black Hand plant in disguise – Desmond.
